As the outpouring of support for Newtown, Connecticut continues, one of it's own, Marcus Tracy, along with a few friends produced a music video to help in the healing process.  Tracy, better known for his ability on the soccer field, wanted to put the town of Newtown in a positive light during a time of much negativity surrounding the Connecticut town.  Tracy grew up in Newtown and later was named a NSCAA High School All-American while helping win a state championship at Newtown High School.  Later, he starred at Wake Forest University, winning the 2007 Offensive MVP when Wake Forest won the National Championship and in 2008 being honored as the Hermann Trophy wiinner.  After injuries had hindered his professional career in Denmark, he recently was signed by San Jose Earthquakes. Enjoy the video and support the town of Newtown.

Pele, Best, Muller, and Beckenbauer.  All soccer legends, but for people of my generation we only know about them from hearing stories from our parents, reading their books, or seeing old white and black videos of them playing on muddy pitches.  Lionel Messi.  How lucky are we?  We get to watch the best player in the world, who is still only 25 years old, play every week with Barcelona matches streamed to every part of the world.  In 2012 he has once again proved how good he is, scoring 86 goals in the calendar year, to break the record of 85 held by Gerd Muller.  If you missed one or all 86, here is your chance to enjoy 10 minutes of Messi's magic from 2012.

    of the Week

If you're bored at work or just surfing the web, here is your chance to get some HUGE recognition.  Each week we will select the best clip from "YouTube".  Since we are too busy saving the world, we are asking our readers to email us the best clips they find each week.  The only requirement is that the clip is soccer related; it can be a great goal, a funny celebration, or some friends screwing around with a soccer ball.  Send us a clip you find on the web and each Monday we will post the best one and if your clip wins, you'll get a SHOUT OUT and if it's deemed T-shirt worthy, you'll get a Soccer Banter T-shirt to wear!
