This Wednesday at Red Bull Arena Manchester United will take on some of the best players that Major League Soccer has in the MLS All-Star game, an annual summer showcase. In this clip, Judah Friedlander, a comedian and actor gives his reasons for being banned from the MLS All-Star game.
Earlier this year, we saw a player do a flip in his follow through on a penalty kick, but this one might top it. Theyab Awana back-heeled a penalty kick in the United Arab Emirates 7-2 win over Lebanon. It might be time for Lebanon to invest in a new goalkeeper coach. ![]() June 23, 2010 vs. July 10, 2011. US Men's Soccer vs. US Women's Soccer. Donovan vs. Wambach. Last year in South Africa, Landon Donovan scored quite possibly the biggest goal for the United States Men's National Team since Paul Caligiuri scored against Trinidad & Tobago to qualify the United States for the 1990 World Cup. Donovan's goal propelled the United States into the 2nd round, but the team fell to Ghana. On Sunday, Abby Wambach scored in the 122nd minute tie the game against Brazil and force penalty kicks. The United States went on to win and now play France on Wednesday in the World Cup Semifinals. United States fans like their teams, know the game is truly not over until the final whistle. Enjoy the YouTube mashup of Donovan and Wambach scoring and how about Ian Darke with the call for both goals! ![]() Once upon a time in Major League Soccer it could take weeks or even months to see that one great goal, thankfully that time is a distant memory. This season, with each game brings the opportunity to see another GOLAZO. Alan Gordon, Carlos Ruiz, Brek Shea, and Eric Hassli have all scored potential "Goal of the Year" winners, but this past weekend Darlington Nagbe needs to be added to the conversation. His strike for the Portland Timbers from the top of the box, which included a little juggling was another example of the overall improvement in technical ability of players in MLS. Enjoy the goal and keep watching MLS to see another GOLAZO. |
