While on leave from Iraq at his home in Wilton, Connecticut, Nicholas Madaras had a dream to bring soccer balls to children in Iraq and Afghanistan. Unfortunately Nick was killed by an IED in September 2006 and was not able to deliver the balls himself. His dream continues to live on through the 'Kick for Nick' foundation, which has sent thousands of soccer balls to the Middle East. This Saturday night in New Haven, Connecticut, O'Tooles Irish Pub and Restaurant is hosting a Kick for Nick Night to raise awareness and soccer balls for this great cause.
