Monz: As the youngest player in NWSL at 18-years-old, what are your thoughts about playing next to the oldest player in the league, Christie Rampone, at 37-years-old?
Cait: I think it is really exciting to get the opportunity to play alongside such a world-class player. I will be able to learn a lot from her and the experience throughout the season. I am really looking forward to it.
Monz: You have traveled about 10,000 miles (about 16,000 km for you) from Australia to New Jersey. What has been the hardest thing to adjust to and why: the time difference, the long travel, American culture, or American soccer?
Cait: By far the time difference. The time difference is 14 hours from Sydney to here, so the first few days were tough. I could not get to sleep until the early hours of the morning, and I was forcing myself to stay awake through the day. Also my appetite. I would be starving, then once I would start eating, I just would not be hungry anymore. It was annoying.
Monz: What were the factors in your decision to play pro in NWSL, rather than at home in Australia or going to college in the U.S.?
Cait: I want to continue developing and becoming a better player. So I think for me the U.S. was the best option. I am getting to play with and against some of the best players from all around the world. Also, it is my first time living out of home, so to be able to come to a country similar to Australia, also played a big role in my decision.
