The latest edition of 'YouTube of the Week' might not be considered very patriotic, but the goal by Giovani Dos Santos against the United States in the Goal Cup Final was an instant classic. The US defenders can be blamed for first a poor clearance and second not tackling a player, but Dos Santos does get credit for his ability to keep the ball in tight space and then be able to get the ball up and down over three defenders and finish it in the top left corner of the goal. Even US fans had to respect his ability. Hopefully Harry Redknapp will do the same or sell him to another English club so fans can watch Dos Santos play on a daily basis.
We haven't seen a celebration quite like this before! Novara, a team in Serie B, clinched promotion to Serie A for the first time in 55-years last Sunday and of course the celebrations began. Alberto Fontana, the backup keeper for Novara, took celebrating to a new level, when he ran through a sign, started kissing other men, and ran around half-naked spraying a fire extinguisher. Enjoy the clip and will see if this can be topped by a member of the winning-team in the Gold Cup.
The Portland Timbers organization continues to raise the bar in MLS. It all started with their fan base known as Timbers Army creating a large and unique presence in Portland. Next was their introduction to America by having their fans sing the national anthem and now these commercials with their major sponsor Alaska Airlines. It's great to see a bit of banter from John Spencer and Timber Joey!
He might be 75 years old and seem a little overweight, but I wouldn't challenge this man in the crossbar game. Erik Lambert is able to take the crossbar challenge to a new level and his celebration is just as exciting.
